6/16/2004 - Red Elvises
The Red Elvises were founded by two Russian political refugees, singer/songwriter Igor Yuzov and actor/bass-balalaika player Oleg Bernov in Los Angeles, California in 1995. Combining kick-ass rocknroll with ethnic influences, outrageous stage presence and tons of charisma, the Red Elvises have gained certain notoriety and popularity among American audiences. Constant touring of North America, Europe and Asia allowed them to develope a large, devoted cult following around the world. The Red Elvises have maintained their independent status by declining several major record deal offers, instead they produced nine studio albums on their own Shooba-Doobah Records.
