1/20/2009 - Pepper/Supervillains

The spirit of aloha is alive and well and currently residing in sunny Southern California . Meet Pepper; Bret Bollinger, Kaleo Wassman, and Yesod Williams, three young innovative minds mixed with divine inspiration from the Hawaiian Islands. This Dub/rock power trio's fan base is not limited as one would assume to Southern California surf towns, with sold out shows in Phoenix, Orlando, Jacksonville, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Seattle, Eugene, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco Pepper proves that there are no limits.

In their ten-year existence, the Supervillains have grown from hometown heroes in Orlando, to a national force in the resurgent ska and reggae scenes. Since the release of their debut national album 'Grow Yer Own' on LAW records in 2006, the Supervillains have been on a torrent, logging over 400 shows and leaving crowds in a swirling frenzy from coast to coast. Their patented sound is generated by a rock-solid rhythm section including two vocalists in band founders Scott Suldo (guitar) and Dominic Maresco (drums). Bassist Daniel Grundorf provides the low-end super-glue that paves the way for the fiery horn section of Jonathan Cestero (tenor sax) and Ricardo San Jose (trumpet).
Come catch rare live acoustic performances by both Pepper and Supervillains on January 20th, at 5:30pm for free at CD WORLD, then catch them later that night at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene!
